ChatGPT, Meet CEO: A Day in the Life of a Leader Using AI

Hi friends,

Let’s break this down.

AI doesn’t just belong in a data lab. It belongs in your diary.

As a CEO, mentor, board advisor, and speaker, my calendar is full. And yet, I’ve never felt more focused, strategic, and in control of my time, ideas, and energy.

Why? Because I’ve learned to use AI like a personal executive assistant — not a gimmick, but a game-changer.

And today, I want to take you behind the scenes. Here’s what a typical “AI-empowered leadership day” actually looks like for me.

💎 7:30 AM – Planning the Day with Clarity

Before I dive in, I open ChatGPT and say:

“Here are my key meetings and goals today. Help me prioritise what matters most.”

It helps me identify what’s urgent, what’s impactful, and what can wait. Because real leadership is about focus, not just hustle.

💎 9:00 AM – Crafting Communications with Confidence

Need to write a board update, team briefing, or strategic announcement? AI helps me draft with speed, but the voice is always mine.

I say:

“Draft a professional email about our upcoming strategy day. Keep it warm, confident, and clear.”

Boom. Instant structure. I refine, personalise, and send — saving 20+ minutes per message.

💎 11:00 AM – Brainstorming Big Ideas

Got a new product idea? Planning a keynote? AI is my favourite thought partner.

I’ll prompt:

“Give me 5 bold talking points for a keynote on women in leadership and AI.” Or: “What are emerging trends in association innovation I should watch?”

It doesn’t give me the answer, but it unlocks alternate thinking. And that’s gold.

💎 2:00 PM – Reviewing Reports with a Smart Lens

Instead of drowning in pages of performance data or member feedback, I ask AI:

“Summarise key themes in this document.” Or: “What insights can I present to the board from this data?”

It’s like having a data whisperer by my side — one who never takes lunch breaks.

💎4:30 PM – Prepping for Tomorrow

I wrap up the day with a reflection:

“What went well today? What needs attention tomorrow?”

I’ll even prompt AI to create a one-page brief for my next staff meeting, based on my notes and plans.

It keeps my brain sharp and my leadership intentional.

💎AI doesn’t do the leading for me

It clears the clutter so I can lead better.

That’s what augmentation looks like in action. It’s not about replacing my thinking — it’s about amplifying it.

And the result? More presence. More power. More space to do what only I can do: lead humans, drive vision, create change.

💬 Now it’s your turn.

Have you tried bringing AI into your daily leadership routine? What tasks could you hand off — and what would it free you up to focus on?
